ADVISE AND PRESENTED ME WITH DIFFERENT WAYS OF LOOKING AT THINGS..YOU CAN CHECK

ONE OF THE MANY THINGS HE SAID

OF THE ‘CAUSE AND EFFECT’ PRINCIPLE..SOME THINGS JUST GO TOGETHER—ICE
CREAM=COLD AND DELICIOUS—SUGAR=SWEET—FIRE=HOT—ICE=COLD, YOU GET THE IDEA..STICK
WITH ME AWHILE NOW..

BE OF AN ALMOST PERSONAL NATURE, (I DID THIS—I WENT THERE—I SAW THAT ETC.ETC.)

HOWEVER TRY TO BRING OTHER PEOPLES’ LIVES AND STORIES TO MY BLOG..SOMETIMES

WONDERFUL 93 YEAR OLD WOMAN WHO SPENDS HER OWN MONEY AND TIME MAKING AFGANS FOR
OUR WOUNDED SOLDERS..(MAY ARCHIVES-COMFORT FOR THE WOUNDED)...NOW BACK TO THE
TITLE OF THIS POST ‘EXPECTATIONS AND DISAPPOINTMENTS.’ OUT OF THE HUNDREDS OF
READERS WHO READ THE STORY ABOUT HER ONLY TWO SAW FIT TO COMMENT ON THIS
WONDERFUL WOMAN’S EFFORTS..ONE WAS A BLOGGER FROM AUSTRALIA (ROSE FROM OZ IS
BACK) AND THE OTHER WAS ANOTHER BLOGGER WHO WAS NOT EVEN A VETERAN (PIGZSFLY’S
WORLD).
EXPECTATIONS ? MINE WERE TO BE
ABLE TO TELL THIS ANGEL OF A WOMAN ABOUT ALL THE VETERANS WHO WERE MOVED AND
THANKFUL TO HER FOR HER SELFLESS DEVOTION TO OUR WOUNDED SOLDIERS…
DISAPPOINTMENTS ? NOT ONE VET SAW
FIT TO POST A COMMENT OR A WORD OF THANKS..I GAVE IT A FEW WEEKS BUT THOSE TWO
COMMENTS WERE THE ONLY ONES I COULD TELL HER ABOUT..WOW!!

BAD FEEL ON ME—A MAJOR NEGATIVE WAVE..BROUGHT BACK AN OLD BOOT-CAMP MEMORY..THE
DRILL INSTRUCTOR, STANDING IN WHAT WAS CALLED A ‘SCHOOL CIRCLE’ HOLDING UP A
M-14 RIFLE AND SAYING SOMETHING TO THE EFFECT OF—‘THIS IS THE ONLY THING YOU
CAN COUNT ON..IF YOU TAKE CARE OF IT-IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU..UNLIKE PEOPLE,
IT WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN, YOU KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT FROM IT WHEN YOU PICK IT UP
TO USE IT. ’
GOT TO ADMIT IT, THE LACK OF ANY
VETERAN RESPONSES TOOK THE WIND OUT OF MY SAILS…THEN TO SEE THE DISAPPOINTMENT
ON THIS WONDERFUL WOMAN’S FACE BOTHERED ME EVEN MORE..JUST MAYBE NEED A BREAK
FROM THE BLOG SCENE FOR AWHILE—DO SOME FISHING, SOME RIDING..GOING TO VANISH

Dear Jim,
May the break from blogging for a while re-energise you and nurture you with re-newed ideas and motivation for one of the most sincere, caring, interesting and thought-provoking blogs I follow; and not only for the amazing subject matter which draws me to visit time and again but a way to stay connected with a like-minded (new) personal friend from the other side of the world.

PS: The subject of your post Jim, has compelled me to also mention that when I was in Cairns I indulged in some sweet little Aussie souvenirs for you, Carol AND dear Mrs Angel 93. I have made no mention of this before as I wanted it to be a surprise, but feel it is a nicer gesture to mention it here.

Hopefully this break isn't too long, I'm gonna miss reading your blogs. I completely understand what you are saying, it does get dissapointing when you see how many veiws a post gets with so few responses. You kinda loose the drive to keep posting. Thank God for Rose. Keep in touch with me Jim. Shooting soon?
Just adding on a little to what Kevin said, and I can only speak for myself and not others, but when I read a post on someone's blog I could NOT leave at least without letting the person know I have been by and of course most times I have a bit say! However, there are a couple of blogs I visit and they leave me stumped for what to say by way of feedback, but I always let the blog owner know that their post has affected me(in whatever way) and that I've been. If not anything else, it's manners? I simply don't know the answers, but this very very thing that Jim has expressed here is a very common topic among a LOT of blog owners out there.
Hello Rose-thanks for your kind words..To be honest I like seeing comments but I think stats are the more important factor. Some people just don't feel comfortable leaving a few words behind them..What bothered me was the complete lack of any kind words for our 93 year old lady..considering all the work she has done-all the hours she has spent-the complete lack of responces, a word of thanks for her efforts,a bit of graditude, from any vets at all left me unpleasently surprized.
Good to hear from you Kevin--Don't really know how long this break is going to be,,have a good story about this 72 year old guy that my brother introduced me to--a real life terminator type..took a severe injury as a kid--doctors told him "you can't do this and you can't do that" but he proved them wrong in a big way..talk to you soon--Jim
